My Coke Can Collection

I’m often asked “I’ve heard of this beverage called ‘Pepsi’.  What is it?”.  I’ve done some research, and discovered some very interesting things.  Apparently “Pepsi” is a cola beverage, produced and sold in a similar manner as Coca-Cola!  According to Wikipedia, it is a drink who’s original purpose is to confuse your taste buds and disappoint the consumer.

It occurred to me today that I had heard of this drink before.  Sometimes, when I’m in a restaurant, when I order my usual Coca-Cola, the waitress will ask me “is Pepsi ok?”  I had always assumed that this question was a thinly-veiled “screw you”.  Now I realize that I was right.  If a waitress should ask you the same question, let me explain what she’s doing.  She is asking if it’s ok to substitute Coke for Pepsi.  Let that sink in for a minute.  She is asking your permission to bring you not the cold, refreshing beverage you’ve come to know and love, but a syrupy sub-par fraud.

Has this ever happened to you?  You’ve ordered a Coke from your server, and he or she brings you a Pepsi?  I imagine this is a lot like expecting a hand-shake and getting a kick in the groin.  “Is Pepsi ok?”  Sure. Ok if I shit on the floor over here?  No?  Well there you go.
