My wife insists that the value of my Coke can collection is equal to that of the value of scrap aluminum, minus the cost of shipping them to the scrap yard. I’ve been looking through my old copy of the Coca-Cola Collectibles Price Guide by Allan Petretti. (You can get one here)
The Coke can I’m looking for is from the 60′s with diamond-shapes on it. I’m pretty sure it was the first Coke can.
Limited Edition Coke Can
Sometimes the value is based on how rare it is. Is it a limited edition Coke can? Did it have a smaller run, promoting some local event? Some of my favorite Coke cans are very colourful and promote an event like sporing event. My friend Corey brought my back a Coke can from Italy with some colourful graphics on it promoting a soccer match.
Old Coke Cans
What is the value of an old Coke Can? eBay is probably the best source for current market value of your Coke can, but it’s fair to say that Coke cans from the 60′s are the highest value. Probably because not many have survived. I myself like the early 80′s Coke cans that were made of mostly tin.Â
Do you remember when Coke cans had a pull-tab that came off in your hand?

I think i have 2 of the cans you are looking for. 1 is in great condition and the other has only a small dent in the side. found it in the attic of my old house that was built in 1923.

I just found a coke can from i think 1987 it says original formula on the can and on the top it says columbia its in good condition but its opened. Is it worth anything if so any idea what its worth? Thanks for any help

Hi Marc, any chance you could post a picture of it here? What is it worth? Well, I think it’s worth a lot, but I’m wrong. Coke cans are not like baseball cards. Coke cans from the 1960s can fetch some descent money, but from the 80′s? Well I guess it depends who wants it. I’d check out eBay if I were you. Good luck!

hey i have this can it is so old it was opened with a bottler opener. i think it is tin but could be wrong.

I have a can like the one pictured, it is in excellent condition but is opened, I found it sealed in a cinder block wall during a demolition. Is it one from the 60′s?

my husband found an old sprite can with the pop and peel top when he was remodeling. I could not believe how bright the color was on it still and in nearly perfect shape. could it be worth anything?

I have 4 of the cans you are looking for, 3 are in great shape and one has some small dents. If you want to email me back i can send pictures. i found them in a wall of an office building i was remodeling a few years back. Also have a 7-up can from around that same time period.

hey y’all,
does anyone remember the failed coke can promotional which contained an internal spring that would pop up when opened, or rather it was supposed to!
I got one of them and took a big swig of a foul tasting liquid, and when i looked inside i could see a rolled up “something” which i fished at, causing it to pop up and out. it was a rolled up coupon for free coke products and a dollar bill attached to a spring.
The promo was discontinued shortly after it began, and i know why!
Does anyone know what the empty can with attached spring might be worth?
I would really appreciate the info.
