About Me

I've been collecting Coke cans since 1986. While not the biggest collection, I enjoy collecting unique Coke cans and bottles from around the world. I also have an unrestored Vendo 81 in my basement. It's been untouched in 13 years. One of these days I'll restore it to it's full glory. Please take a look at the photo gallery, and if you have a picture to share, go ahead and add it!

Coke Bottle History

I love this photograph.  It’s incomplete, but nice nonetheless.   I believe it was 1923 with they moved to the iconic “May West” shaped bottle.  I’d be grateful if anyone has any examples of pre-1923 (or straight-sided Coke bottles bottles) if you could send me a picture to publish here.

Aluminum Coke bottles are sexy.   You’ve probably seen them in the stores already.  My brother bought me a couple of these aluminum Coke bottles.  The two pictured here are in honour of the 2010 Olympic games in Vancouver.  Aluminum bottles are the future of bottled beverages in my opinion.  Look at how much surface area you can wrap in graphics.  They’re light and 100% recyclable.  And just look at the shape!  These bottles are amazing.

Have you seen these bottles?  Leave me a comment and tell me what you think…

If you want to see an amazing website dedicated to the contour coke bottle, chek out http://www.thecontourbottle.com/ It’s very impressive!

    Hi Derek,

It was actually 1916 when Earl R. Dean’s contour Coca-Cola bottle went into production.

    Hi Jeff,
    Thanks – you’re right. I was thinking about the modern 6.5oz design patented Dec 25, 1923. The hobble-skirt was 1916. http://www.thecontourbottle.com/

I picked up a 6.5 oz aluminum contour bottle at the Houston Zoo last week. I need to find a retailer. These will make great teasers in the trolling spread when I go fishing. Someone else suggested salt and pepper shakers. Lol
