Derek,
Good site. Question: I have about 100 Coke cans (and other brands) in my collection. I have some fairly old ones (20 yrs old?), and some foreign and sports cans. Right now most are full, but a few have leaked out. What do you recommend? Should I drain each one? Will that reduce their potential value? Seems like eventually they will all leak. Thanks.

Hi Gary, If I were you, I’d drain them. You’re right – the coke will eat away at the can and if left undiscovered will make a mess and could lead to rust where the leak is. I punch 2 holes in the bottom of the can so the top still looks unopened. As far as affecting the value, I think most people recognize the problem with leaving the Coke in and wouldn’t complain too much if you emptied them. Thanks for the post!
