Look at this cool Coke bottle Soccer ball! I picked this up at a local supermarket here in Ontario for $.99. No, wait I think it was 2 for $2.49 at the time. Well anyway they’re on sale now for $.99 everywhere. This is the first one in a series. I’ve got a couple of different ones now. This isn’t the greatest picture perhaps, but you get the idea. 2010 Olympic Coke Bottle
May 17th, 2010 by Derek
Here’s a photo of the light-up Coke bottle given away at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic games. Thanks to Larry for sending my the photo! These bottles are quite rare. I found a YouTube video of the bottle as it flashes. A quick check on eBay reveals that these cool bottles are selling for upwards of $40. Apparently Coca-Cola gave away 50,000 of these items. I have yet to see one in person, however.
Coke Zero Bottle

I like this Coke Zero bottle picture. Coke Zero is basically Diet Coke for men. It makes sense. Diet Coke is so popular among women, that it may be perceived my some as a drink for ladies. Guys, it seems would rather drink a calorie-reduced or calorie-free drink than a “diet” beverage. Coke Zero, with it’s cool name and black label is quite masculine. Me? I drink Caffeine-free Diet Coke. I can’t take to much caffeine. Makes me all j-j-j-jumpy.
I found it interesting to learn that while Diet Coke is an entirely different receipe, Coke Zero is a variation of the Coca-Cola formula.
Update: I just learned of Cafine-free Coke Zero. If you’ve tried it, please leave me a comment below!
What do you think? Is Diet Coke to much of a “ladies drink”?
Coke Bottle History

I love this photograph. It’s incomplete, but nice nonetheless. I believe it was 1923 with they moved to the iconic “May West” shaped bottle. I’d be grateful if anyone has any examples of pre-1923 (or straight-sided Coke bottles bottles) if you could send me a picture to publish here.
new easy grip Coke bottle
March 12th, 2010 by Derek
Well thank God. The 2 litre Coke bottle is now an easy grip bottle. Can’t tell you how many times a Coke bottle has accidentally flown out of my hand, narrowly missing a family member. My children can all rest easy now. “Holy shit!” my wife would cry as I picked up the old “round” Coke bottle. Read more »
