I bought one of these brass sand castings of a Coke bottle at a yard sale some years ago. I still have it. Most people mistakenly believe it’s a Coke bottle plated with brass. A local antique mall appraiser told me that a few of these were made in Italy in the 1940’s, unauthorized by Coca-Cola, and sold in the USA as pop art, “objets d’art”. According to this appraiser, Coke obtained a court order to force the makers to quit selling the brass castings of Coke bottles. Quite interesting, aren’t they ?
